[UT Grotto - Trips] Maple Run Trip -- Saturday October 6th at 2 pm

Hello everyone,

Drew Thompson has been kind enough to offer to lead a trip through Maple Run
on Saturday, October 6th, at 2 in the afternoon.  If you want to go on this
trip contact either him or myself.

In order to go through this cave, you must have been through Whirlpool
already.  If you have not been through Whirlpool, but feel that you are
experienced enough, contact Drew and let him know.  It will be up to him to
decide if he feels up to leading you through the cave based on your
experience.

This cave is more physically demanding than Whirlpool.  The belly crawls are
steeper and there are places where you have to climb up and down.  There is
a tight squeeze that you have to climb up through and later drop back down
through.  If you start feeling really tired, you should keep the leaders
abreast of your energy level so they can help you conserve energy and get
out safely.

All instructions and directions can be found at www.utgrotto.org under the
New Caver section.  Remember, everyone is required to supply their own head
lamp.  Please take the time to read through the website, as it has a lot of
very useful and critical information.

This trip is limited to 8 people, aside from the leaders, so sign up
quickly.  If you don't get on this trip, don't worry, there will be more.
