The TSA, founded in 1956, has been bringing cavers together from around Texas for over 50
years. TSA Spring convention is a great time for all of us to come
together with family and friends to enjoy group meals, presentations, workshops,
new works at the Map & Photo Salon, treasures at the TCMA auction, business
meetings, and your favorite vendors.
The spring convention is the annual technical meeting featuring presentations on
projects and information on the scientific aspects of caving.
Join the TSA for the 2017 Spring Convention! The Hill Country State Natural Area is a great
location with lots of hiking, nature watching, numerous caves and a beautiful river. Our event

not potable) but plenty of electric everywhere.
Tickets available for pre-registration at:

We will be having a catered dinner from Fritz's BBQ in Boerne, TX. They have been really
helpful in getting the most food for the most reasonable price. Dinner will include various
casseroles (including a vegetarian option), a nice spring mix salad, bread (white and wheat) and
tea (sweet and unsweet). There will also be dessert provided by volunteers of an assortment of
baked goods for grazing upon throughout the remainder of the evening.
The Chapas Group Camping Area is a secluded section of the park that we will have all to
ourselves. It is a nice large grassy field of first come, first serve camping. There is plenty of
electric power stations, but no showers and no potable water, make sure to bring your own
water. Located on the east side of the park, the Chapas Group Camping is actually very close
to a few of the caves on the property and across the way from the picturesque Chiquita Falls.
There will be many scientific and exploratory talks all day on Saturday as usual. In addition,
we will also be having several workshops, including survey, sketching, drafting maps in Walls
and rigging. They will be held in the field and in cave. Please stay tuned to the event page on
FB or the email announcement on CaveTex for sign up for the workshops. They will all have a
limit to number of participants and be on a first come, first serve basis. Sign ups will be
happening very soon.
After dinner there will be an auction benefiting the Texas Cave Management Association.
We need items donated for auction. Please see the TCMA board members for details.
