May 2527, 2007

NSS-CDS Annual Workshop - Live Oak, Florida The theme for the 2007 Annual Cave Diving Section Workshop is Cave Diving around the World, and will highlight the global growth of the sport of cave diving. The event will get under way on Friday night with a social hosted at the Dive Outpost in Luraville. Saturday will feature presentations, special interest sessions, and displays of the latest in dive equipment presented by a number of top manufacturers. Sunday will provide members with additional special interest mini-workshops in addition to guided dives at some of the area's most pristine locations. Guided dives will also be available on Monday.


May 25 - 28, 2007

Kentucky Speleofest (Upton, KY): The 36th annual Speleofest is billed as Underground Heaven and takes place on the 67-acre Lone Star Preserve, acquired by the Louisville Grotto as a caving preserve. Typical events include lots of caving trips (including special beginners trips), food, speleovendors, karaoke and more. Camping and hot showers will be available. Proximity to such attractions as Mammoth Cave National Park, the Jim Beam distillery, and Fort Knox should provide enough fun for non-caving friends and relatives.


May 26 - 28, 2007

Southwest Region Memorial Day Regional (Ft. Stanton Cave, NM): Cave trips and conservation projects in Ft. Stanton Cave will be available. Hosted by the Sandia Grotto.


May 31 - June 3, 2007

Southeastern Regional Association (SERA) Summer Cave Carnival, - hosted by East Tennessee Grotto at Camp Nakanawa, near Crossville, TN. Amenities include world-class caving, 1,100 acre property with biking/hiking trails, 110-acre spring-fed lake, dining hall, climbin wall, zip line, cabins, lare shower houses, bonfie, hot-tub, and a live band. KARST-O-RAMA - The Greater Cincinnati Grotto invites you to attend the 2007 Karst-O-Rama at the Great Saltpetre Cave Preserve in Mount Vernon, Kentucky.

NSS Convention - Marengo, Indiana.  Nestled in the scenic hills of Southern Indiana, Crawford County is the "Postcard Perfect" destination for recreation, relaxation, and caving! Caving at Convention will range from tight and sporting stream crawls, to huge walking passages, to well-decorated grottos. Also nearby are two of the nation's finest commercial caverns -- Marengo Cave and Wyandotte Cave -- both of which are must-see. Facilities for sessions and camping will be colocated at the Crawford County High School and 4H Fairgrounds. It has been 15 years since the Convention was hosted in Indiana... so it is time to welcome all Cavers Back Underground in Indiana!"

Cave Research Foundation 50th Anniversary Celebration (Hamilton Valley, KY): Come celebrate 50 years of exploration of Mammoth Cave (and other caves around the U.S.) at the CRF Hamilton Valley Field Station. Caving, guided tours, camaraderie, food, song, camping and general good fun.
